LIEUTENANT COLONEL KATHLEEN C. AMYOT
Lieutenant Colonel Kathleen C. Amyot is Commander of the 155th Medical Group at the Nebraska National Guard Air Base, Lincoln, NE. The Medical Group provides support to the 155th Air Refueling Wing, as well as the air component of the Nebraska National Guard Joint Force Headquarters and the 170th Group, an independent unit located at Offutt AFB, NE
Lieutenant Colonel Amyot was commissioned in the USAF upon acceptance to the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences F.Edward Hebert School of Medicine, earning an MD degree in 1993. She completed her Internship and Residency training in Family Medicine at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews AFB, MD where she served as chief resident.
She was then stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, NE, serving as faculty in the Offutt AFB/University of Nebraska Family Medicine Residency program in Bellevue, NE. She was selected as Family Medicine Residency Faculty of the Year in 1999. In July 1999, Lieutenant Colonel Amyot was assigned as the Chief of Medical Services at RAF Croughton, UK where she ensured the health care, bioenvironmental safety and public health support for 400+ military members and their families in rural England. In July 2002, she returned to the US and served as a faculty physician at the Scott AFB/St Louis University Family medicine residency program, where she was selected as Family Medicine Faculty of the Year in 2003. She was named Associate (Military) Program Director from 2004-2005. During this time she was selected as a member of the Staff Assistance Team to assist in the creation of the current combined residency program at UNMC/Offutt. In January 2010, she joined the Nebraska Air National Guard. She served first as a staff physician and CERF-P medical leader, then as Chief of Medical Operations. She became 155th Medical Group Commander October 2014.
