Nebraska National Guard Strengthens Disaster Response Readiness
Two Nebraska Army National Guard Soldiers use a PDR-77 radiation detector to examine a simulated casualty during a disaster response exercise at the Atlas Readiness Center near Yutan, Nebraska, Sept. 2, 2026. The detector is used to identify residual radiation or contamination and determine whether a casualty requires additional decontamination before proceeding to medical assessment and treatment.
